[{“type”:”text”,”content”:”Considering the new direction published by the department of employment and labour on 11 June 2021, employers are allowed to make vaccinations mandatory for their employees in the workplace. Employers must conduct a risk assessment of specific circumstances of the workplace and amend their current Covid-19 policies within 21 days of the new direction coming into effect.nnOnce an employer has decided on mandatory vaccinations, they must identify those employees to be vaccinated taking into consideration the following factors:nn* Those by virtue of their job are at severe risk of transmission;n* Employeeu2019s age; n* Those with comorbidities; andn* Take into account any collective agreement in place. nnThe employer must develop a plan that outlines the measures that the employer intends to implement in respect of the vaccination of its employees. The employer must consult with the relevant Trade Union and the Health and Safety Committee within the workplace during the development of the vaccination plan.”,”position”:0,”id”:”3H80ioDGbw9YTmGS”}]
