Pierre says: Governance and the future of agriculture
[{“type”:”text”,”content”:”The impact of the proposed changes to section 25 of our countryu2019s constitution is such a complicated issue. We can envisage how the proposed amendments will influence the wellbeing of agriculture and the economy of our country. The challenge is to convince the government and the ruling party of the fact that changing the constitution will result in economic instability, poor economic growth and more social unrest. We believe that economic growth, job creation and employment need secure private property rights to attract investment and confidence in the future. We also believe that we have to find solutions to make orderly transformation a reality.nnWe all agree that, to be successful, we will need governance structures that will enhance the way we manage change. We live in an environment that is dynamic. We need decision making processes and structures that will make it possible to react quickly and above all, make us pro-active. The active involvement of farmers in decision-making through the use of new technology is important. We must not hesitate to implement new structures to make a preferred future a reality.”,”position”:0,”id”:”9iGlZxGc6Qzcdu1N”}]
